Cracked is opening a restaurant in Chicago

Cracked, the beloved C-U breakfast restaurant, will find a home in Wicker Park this fall. Now when you are in Chicago visiting family, friends, or just for fun, you can get your morning bender (definitely add bacon) and your tots.

The new restaurant will be at 1359 N Milwaukee Ave, and assuming all permits and red tape go smoothly, open the first week of October. The menu will be expanded, too. According to owner Daniel Krause, the restaurant will be

“adding some pretty traditional breakfast/brunch/dinner options (biscuits and gravy, chilaquiles, burgers and fries) along with a slightly expanded tot menu and a yogurt parfait bar. Also brunch cocktails (mimosas, bloody Mary’s, beer on tap, etc.).”

You’ll still be able to get your Cracked fix here in Champaign-Urbana. Krause noted:

“The store will remain with the same hours. We will run one truck with somewhat limited hours, but it will continue to be at the farmers’ market on Saturdays consistently. The other truck will be closed.”
