When Cyntoia Brown was 16, she was convicted of aggravated robbery and first degree murder and sentenced to life in prison. A victim of sex trafficking, she was released after 15 years in 2017, when then Tennessee governor Bill Haslam granted her clemency.

She will be sharing her story at Illinois Terminal on February 15th, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. The event is being hosted by the Trauma & Resilience Initiative and the Champaign County Community Coalition.
