Typically the University YMCA hosts their Dump & Run collection in May as students are moving off campus for the summer. They’ve determined that it’s not going to be feasible right now, so collections have been postponed to August.
They are planning to host their annual garage sale at the Stock Pavilion August 22nd and 23rd, and they will do community collections and pickups earlier in the month.
From University YMCA Director of Development Marc Alexander:
“We’re disappointed that we won’t be able to salvage items during move-out this year, but we recognize that this is an extraordinary situation and the safety of our community and volunteers comes first. We’re looking forward to resuming campus collections in May 2021 with the University of Illinois Facilities and Services and University Housing as partners.”
