Early voting is now open

Two "I Voted" Stickers, still on paper. On the right a blue-purple one eyed cartoon monster. On the left, three raised fists of different shades of brown with I voted across the top.

Yes, you read that correctly. Ready or not, it’s time to start thinking about 2024 elections. The primary election is March 19th, but early voting has already begun at the Brookens Administrative Center gymnasium in Urbana. Today through March 8th those polls will be open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Those hours will expand beginning March 11th, and more locations will be added.

If you are a vote-by-mail sort of person, and would like to request a ballot (and to be added to the continuing vote-by-mail list) you can learn more about that here.

There aren’t a lot of contested races in this primary, but it’s still important to vote for who you want to see on the general election ballot. You can find your sample ballot, and check your voter registration status at the Champaign County Clerk and Recorder’s website. Also, the Champaign County Voters Alliance website is always a great resource to see who is running where and for what.
