Fridays are a good day for flautas from Maize

Any day is a good day for flautas, but flauta Friday has a nice ring to it. What are flautas? Flautas are fried rolled tacos. Maize serves four different kinds of flautas: chicken, carne asada, chorizo mixed with cheese, or potato mixed with cheese. Each order of flautas ($13) comes with three fried rolled tacos of the same filling plus guacamole, pico de gallo, lettuce, sour cream, rice, and beans.

I ordered three of the four Maize flautas, and I highly recommend it. My favorite is the potato and cheese: it’s so creamy on the inside and crispy on the outside. They’re all delicious, though, and I would never turn down a chance to celebrate Flauta Friday with any of Maize’s fillings.
