Give to Smile Politely, get some tasty sandwiches

A side view of a sandwich on a tray. Toasted bread with turkey, sauce, and coleslaw spilling out. The tray also has a fork, a deli container, and a pickle. In the background, out of focus, there are other trays of food at Martinelli's Market. Photo by Tayler Neumann.

This fall, we launched our very first donation campaign, with no sort of expectation, really. We were overwhelmed with the outpouring of support — not just the monetary donations, but the kind words of encouragement we received as well. However, the money is pretty darn nice too. Because of your generosity, we were able to give significant raises to all of our editorial staff, and increase our Featured Article budget by 100%, doubling it for 2024. Additionally, we will be able to hire a video content creator to deliver short features as much as once a month in the coming year.

Our plan going forward is to do this sort of thing once a quarter. So, we are announcing our Year End Donation Campaign

‘Tis the season for giving, and we hope you’ll consider contributing to our work. Of course, there’s a gift involved for you too. If you donate $100 — either all at once or through a monthly donation — we’ll send you a $50 gift card for Martinelli’s Market Bakery & Deli. It’s a great spot to grab a sandwich or pastry (or maybe a French toast bake), or do a little gift buying for your people. We’ll make sure your gift card gets to you in time for that!

This campaign will run from through December 15th, and our goal is to get 50 total donations during these two weeks. You can donate here.

We are, as always, grateful for your readership and your support.
