Miller Park Zoo in Bloomington reopened to the public back in June, and they’ve put in a bunch of protocols to make your visit with the animals a safe one. Finding varied outdoor experiences is key to keeping our sanity without increasing our risk very much.
It’s a nice, manageable zoo, and Miller Park itself is a good place to spend some time, perhaps with a picnic lunch. Plus there are otters, and otters are guaranteed to put you in a good mood.
If you want to go a step further in supporting the zoo while you’re in town, several local breweries are participating in Brews for the Zoo, with special brews you can pick up that will kick back some of the proceeds to the conservation efforts happening at Miller Park Zoo.
