If you’re not someone who’s into the world of science fiction and fantasy, you may not be aware that we are home to the editors of the award winning Uncanny magazine. Lynne M. Thomas and Michael Damien Thomas of Urbana are the muliple Hugo Award winning co-publishers and co-editors-in-chief of the magazine which is, according to the website:
“An online Science Fiction and Fantasy magazine featuring passionate SF/F fiction and poetry, gorgeous prose, provocative nonfiction, and a deep investment in the diverse SF/F culture. Each issue contains intricate, experimental stories and poems with verve and imagination that elicit strong emotions and challenge beliefs, from writers of every conceivable background. Uncanny believes there’s still plenty of room in the genre for tales that make you feel.”
Wednesday, February 5th from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., the Thomas’s will be at Illini Union Bookstore for the launch of their Best of Uncanny book launch. The event is free and open to the public.
