It’s been a minute since we’ve updated our readers on the latest with the pretty expansive development headed for Downtown Champaign, The Yards. Leave it to Tom Kacich at The News-Gazette to help us out via his Tom’s Mailbag column. Within the article published today features an update on The Yards from City of Champaign’s Bruce Knight, and this photo to accompany it. Check out the rendering above, which angles to view the development from the northwest looking towards Campustown in the distance.
The project is still moving forward as planned, though there’s been no announcement yet about the state of the Division I hockey team from the University of Illinois, though AD Josh Whitman said back in early March that “good news” was on the way.
