Here’s another opportunity to celebrate Pride in C-U

June is Pride month throughout the nation, as a recognition of the Stonewall riots at the end of June, 1969. In C-U, we typically postpone our big Pride celebrations until September, so that more students can be a part of the festivities. Now, the UP Center has added a special June event in honor of the 50th anniversary of the riots.

Queering “UP” the Park is the first annual Pride Picnic, and it’s happening June 8th from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Hessel Park Pavilion. From the Facebook event:

In recognition of the 50th Anniversary of the Stonewall Riots and in celebration of LGBTQ+ Pride month, we are planning an evening of friends, family, food & fun!

You are encouraged to bring your own picnic and/or food to share, as well as games and your preferred picnic seating.
