I finally tried something savory from Rick’s Bakery

And I was not disappointed. In late 2018, we published an article highlighting Rick’s savory options, and on a whim this week I stopped in for sweets and some lunch. My husband ordered the ham and cheese croissant, and found it to be nice and buttery. I ordered two tamales (vegetarian and mole); I ate them for lunch and they were flavorful and filling. I’m looking forward to getting a burrito in the near future.

I cannot help myself, and ordered some sweets, too. The tres leches is a must, plus we also chose the cinnamon roll and a cinnamon sugar doughnut. The cinnamon roll was such a lovely, refined pastry. The dough was tender, the cinnamon was perfectly balanced, and there was just enough drizzle of glaze. The doughnut was chewy and sweet. (We ate the doughnut in the car.) I will definitely order both next time I visit.
