The 2024 Illinois Arts Council awards were announced last week and the University of Illinois landed four of them. Congratulations to Ben Grosser (digital arts), Patrick Earl Hammie (visual arts), Laurie Hogin (visual arts), and Kira Dominguez Hultgren (crafts). Check the links to each artist to learn more about their work.

The Council is proud to be able to provide Illinois artists with unrestricted funds in these awards that will support their creative endeavors and artistic growth. The mission of the Illinois Arts Council is “To build a strong, creative, and connected Illinois through the arts.” The Agency recognizes that Illinois’ artists are an essential component of the social fabric and economic vibrancy of the state.

We are lucky to live in a state that values the arts and understands how important all of the arts and crafts are for our kids, our students, our communities, as well as our artists. Well done, Illinois Arts Council and congrats to all of the recipients (well, especially to our UIUC winners). The complete list can be found here.
