IMC is hosting a virtual event series, Sounds Like Community

Urbana’s Independent Media Center is launching a virtual event series featuring 30 minutes of curated content once a week until able to reopen to the public.

This Thursday, April 9th features two 30 minute sets:

  • 7 p.m. How to Access Solar Energy
  • 7:30 p.m. Music by Ibrahim Ouedraogo

LIVE STREAM SERIES WEEKLY UNTIL WE RE-OPEN THE IMC

The Urbana Champaign Independent Media Center (IMC) is launching a virtual event series called “Sounds Like Community.” Organizers will curate two 30 minute sets one evening a week until the IMC re-opens for physical gatherings. This week on Thursday, April 9 at 7pm the IMC presents “How to Access Solar Energy,” a panel discussion with Amanda Pankau (Prairie Rivers Netowrk), Scott Allen and Cate York (Citizens Utility Board), and Susan Parenti (School for Designing a Society), followed by a musical set at 7:30pm from Ibrahim Ouedraogo, local musician, videographer and IMC Board member. WHAT: A live stream of two 30 minute sets curated by the IMC Programming Committee happening once a week until the IMC re-opens for physical gatherings

WHY: By live streaming two 30 minute sets once a week the IMC Programming Committee aims to help artists and activists re-establish the time-based and community-based experiences that are so deeply diminished in our lives.
