Outside of the Urbana Sweetcown Festival, the International Beer Tasting & Food Truck Showcase was the longest running event in Downtown Urbana. Today, Jay Goldberg Events & Entertainment announced that they will not be hosting the event this year and will reassess whether or not they’re going to make a return to Urbana.
According to Ian Goldberg, one of the reasons for the hiatus is a lack of support from Urbana:
“Failing to secure that support we will be taking this year off as we look at what is going to help make this event more successful for potential future years. I have been a resident, business owner and supporter of Urbana for nearly 20 years now, but I certainly understand why the trend has been for events that started in Urbana, such as The Blues, Brews and BBQ Festival and Pygmalion Music Festival, towards migrating to Champaign. We are going to assess our options and decide how best to move forward.”
