Jane Lynch, the wonderful actress from Glee, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, and of course my favorites Best in Show and A Mighty Wind, has also taken on the role of promoting Illinois in an ad campaign for Enjoy Illinois. Lynch is from the suburb of Dolton, and graduated from Illinois State University.
In a recent Washington Post interview, she was asked to name her favorite Illinois attractions, and Urbana’s own Crystal Lake Park made her list.
As someone who was born and raised in Normal, I also feel compelled to mention that she gave some love to Avanti’s pizza bread and the Illinois Shakepeare Festival. I also recommend both of those Bloomington-Normal experiences.
