Japan House and Maverick Wines are excited to announce our next Sake Tasting … coming back full circle to MIGA where we began last fall!

Maverick Wines and Vine Connections will be bringing two Japanese small batch premium sake brewers to Champaign-Urbana, and we wanted to share them with our friends!

MIGA has graciously offered to host two tasting sessions and a final 5-course tasting meal featuring food from their top chefs, Blake Biggs from MIGA, Ken Ishabashi from SAKANAYA, and Thad Morrow from the new-to-open NAYA.

During the first two 45-minute sessions, 5pm and 6pm, guests will be treated to 6 small batch premium sake tastings, as well as paired nibbles and nosh provided by the chefs in MIGA’s Private Dining Room. Small batch Japanese sake brewers, Yuri Honda from Chiyonosono and Dr. Sato from Kanbara, will be available to discuss the process of making premium small batch sake in Japan. Vine Connections Sake Specialist, Jonathon Edwards, will be guiding you through tasting notes and pairing ideas along the way.

The final session at 7pm will move to the main dining room where guests will taste the 6 premium small batch sake, paired with a delicious 5-course meal. Again, small batch Japanese sake brewers, Yuri Honda from Chiyonosono and Dr. Sato from Kanbara, will be available to discuss the process of making premium small batch sake in Japan, while Vine Connections Sake Specialist, Jonathon Edwards, guides you through tasting notes and pairing ideas throughout dinner.

This rare tasting will be the premier sake event you will not want to miss! Space is limited to 20 guests for the first two sessions, and 28 guests for the tasting with 5-course meal. Reservations are required.
