Korean actress and filmmaker Pang Eun-Jin to visit U of I

UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS CENTER FOR ADVANCED STUDY PRESENTS AN EVENING WITH PANG EUN-JIN

Urbana, IL—As part of its ongoing Special Events Series, the University of Illinois Center for Advanced Study presents AN EVENING WITH PANG EUN-JIN, April 25, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. at the Spurlock Museum, 600 S Gregory St, Urbana, IL 61801. Ms. Pang’s will present her third and latest feature film, The Way Back Home (2013), and take part in a discussion with the audience immediately following the screening

Pang Eun-jin is a highly accomplished actress and director who has appeared in over thirty feature films and television series, including Im Kwon-taek’s The Taebaek Mountains (1994), Park Chul-soo’s 301/302 (1995), Kim Ki-duk’s Address Unknown (2001), and Kim In-sik’s Road Movie (2002).

In 2005 she directed her first feature film, Princess Aurora, for which she won the Korean Association of Film Critics’ Best New Director Award, and the Women In Korean Film’s Woman Filmmaker of the Year Award. Her second feature, Perfect Number, based on Keigo Higashino’s famous mystery thriller, The Devotion of Suspect X (2012), will be screened on Tuesday, April 26, in the Main Lounge at Allen Hall, 1005 West Gregory Drive, Urbana, IL 61801, at 7:00 p.m.

These events provide East Central Illinois residents with rare opportunities to meet and interact with an internationally renowned artist in intimate settings.
