From Natalie Kenny Marquez, Marketing Coordinator/Director, Urbana’s Market at the Square:

The City of Urbana’s Market at the Square is pleased to work with the Eastern Illinois Foodbank to host a special donation event at the Saturday, June 29th farmers market.  The event, BUY ONE DONATE ONE, will offer patrons a chance to buy fresh, local produce for themselves and then donate some to the Eastern Illinois Foodbank.

The event will take place this Saturday, June 29th during the farmers market, which kicks off at 7 a.m. and runs until noon, rain or shine.  The Eastern Illinois Foodbank will have a tent and donation collection at the northwest corner of the Market, near the City of Urbana tent.  To view the Market map, please visit www.urbanaillinois.us/market.

“The Eastern Illinois Foodbank is committed to alleviating hunger by providing a greater amount of nutritional food to children and their families,” stated Julie Melton, Director of Marketing & Development for the Eastern Illinois Foodbank. “Through this partnership, we will be able to collect fresh food to be directly distributed to our agencies and the individuals they serve.”
