McKinley Foundation will be staging an art exhibition from September 11th to December 6th with the theme of “Resist Erasure: Art by and for 2SLGBTQIA+ Thriving.” Interested artists must be enrolled at the University of Illinois, Parkland College, or an area high school. Artwork must be two-dimensional, original artwork, that addresses the theme. According to their website, they invite artists to be creative with the interpretation of “Resist Erasure” which is “is meant to inspire students to respond to the current political climate toward 2SLGBTQIA+ students and young adults. Facing limiting legislation, book bans, harassment and more, students say they are being “erased” from the U.S. education system.”

Submissions must be received by August 31st. Additional information can be found on their website.
