Music for Maverick: Local bands play to support kitten

Maverick seemed like the right name for a kitten who survived being thrown from a moving vehicle. Once in the care of the volunteers at CATSNAP (Champaign-Area Trap Spay/Neuter and Adoption Program), Maverick underwent surgery for his three broken legs at the University of Illinois Veterinary Hospital. He is now seeking assistance to help cover his substantial veterinary bills.

CATSNAP frequently fosters and provides medical care for special needs cats and dogs, many of whom go on to find their “forever” homes. “Amazingly,” says Maverick’s CATSNAP caregivers, his spirit has never broken and he is the most loving little cat.”

“Music for Maverick” will be held at Mike ‘N Molly’s on Thursday, August 15 from 7:00-11:00 pm. All proceeds will benefit Maverick’s care.

Colonel will open the show at 7:00 pm, followed by Isaac Arms at 7:50, Megan Johns at 8:40, The Thin Souls at 9:30 and The Acme Principle at 10:20 pm.

Mike ‘N Molly’s is located at 105 N Market Street in Downtown Champaign.

CATNSAP is non-profit, volunteer-based, low-income spay/neuter service. Established in 2005, it provides foster homes for and adopts out cats (and the occasional dog or small animal), provides educational materials to promote successful pet ownership, and assists feral cat caretakers with spay/neuter help and trapping. Tax deductible donations can also be made directly to CATSNAP via their website, http://www.catsnap.org/
