Back in January, I took the buffoon at the News-Gazoo to task about publishing the photos from the Champaign County jail for recent arrests. After all, these folks are innocent until proven guilty. What’s worse is that they left a space to publish Google Ads right next to the alleged offenders.
Today, it appears that they have suspended publishing those photos due to “changes in the Champaign County Sheriff systems.” Now, whether or not the Sheriff’s office found a way to stop the News-Gazoo from “scraping” the material and uploading it into their website, or if this is their way of listening to their audience (many of whom asked Tom Kacich about it in no uncertain terms) remains to be seen.
But as my friend put it on Facebook today, now would be the best opportunity to get arrested, if that’s something that you’d been planning for your sweetie for Valentine’s Day.
Nothing says “I Love You” quite like a phone call from the pen to ask for bail money.
Except perhaps, the gift of a new spatula.
