Ooh, a cool map showing migration to & from C-U

C-U Citizen Access has a blog post up with an interactive map detailing census data for households which moved into and out of Champaign County between 2009 and 2010.

For instance, 91 people moved from Champaign County to the Washington, D.C., metro area between 2009 to 2010, and their average adjusted gross income was $41,046. Meanwhile, 206 people from Marion County, Indiana (Indianapolis) moved to Champaign County, with average incomes of $24,766. Trades like that resulted in “[t]he average income of taxpayers who moved out of Champaign County between 2009 and 2010 was about $4,000 higher than the income of those who moved into Champaign County during the same time,” according to Dan Petrella’s article.

Interesting stuff.
