Paign to Peace is hosting a “My Culture Is Not A Trend” protest in Mahomet tomorrow, Wednesday, July 8th at 1 p.m. Blackface and cultural appropriation are the inspiration for this specific march; yes, people have still been donning blackface.
The march route begins at the intersection of N Division Streeet and W State Street, right next to Lincoln Trail elementary school. The entire march route is posted on the Paign to Peace Facebook page; check there for more specifics.
It will be very hot tomorrow, so please dress accordingly, including your mask to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.
