The Pens to Lens competition gives young screenwriters from East Central Illinois the chance to have their scripts turned into short films by area directors. This year’s gala will take place at the Virginia Theatre on August 15th, with the red carpet premeire beginning at 1 p.m., then presenting the 20 winning films in two separate blocks: K-8th grade winners will screen beginning at 2 p.m., and the 6pm block will feature 8th-12th grade winners, with awards being presented during the proceedings.

A $12 festival pass grants admittance to both screenings or choose an individual screening for $8.
