There’s a lot of exciting food and drink news surrounding the upcoming football season. Watson’s announced that they’ll be serving up sammies and tenders and slushes. They will be operating alongside several other food trucks, including Brien’s Bistro, Canelo’s Taco Truck, Juanito’s, Maria’s Kitchen, and Sammie’s Smoothie Bar. A Taste of Both Worlds and Sooie Bro’s BBQ will have stands. There’s a whole new grab and go sections where you can get self-serve Jersey’s Mikes.

But if you are looking to save a little money on your food and drink situation — because it certainly can add up to a lot, especially if you are buying for a whole family — get to Memorial Stadium 90 to 30 minutes before kickoff. Then, you can get hot dogs, non-alcoholic beverages (excluding souvenir cups), and/or domestic beers and Trulys for just three bucks.

There are several additions, food related and not, to Illinois football games this season. Check out the Illini Football website to see the full list. The first game is September 2nd at 6:30 p.m. against Toledo.
