Spend a day working on your Earth skills at Kalyx Center in Monticello

Common Ground Food Co-op is providing yet another opportunity to learn more about sustainable eating and consumption practices through this day of learning at the very cool Kalyx Center for Sustainability in Monticello. If you’ve never been out there, that’s worth the trip in and of itself, because the cool old barn is well maintained and on a great piece of property.

On Saturday, April 27th from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., for just $20 you can participate in what they are calling their Earth Skills Workshop which features a bunch of local experts, Common Ground’s annual Seed Swap, and more.

Celebrate Earth Week by immersing yourself in nature with a group of experts covering a range of native plant and environmental topics at our Earth Skills Workshop at The Kalyx Center for Sustainability in Monticello, IL. Learn nature skills including:

  • Springtime plant identification
  • Responsible foraging techniques
  • Nature observation
  • Native fruit planting and grafting
  • Homemade plant dyeing
  • Invasive species removal

Plus, participate in our annual Seed Swap!

$20/person for event and includes lunch from the Co-op
