The Mabery Gelvin Botanical Garden at Lake of the Woods in Mahomet is really lovely. It’s a relatively small area, perfect for an easy stroll or walk with your child or dog. There’s a nice little koi pond and charming bridge, as well as a relaxing waterfall feature. Right now everything is very lush, so you’ll probably spy some bees and birds.

You can park and enter the garden from the same location at the Museum of the Grand Prairie.
