The Land Connection is hosting a four-course harvest dinner on Saturday

At The Land Connection's fundraiser, there is a bale of hay beside groups of pumpkins in varying sizes and colors for a Harvest Dinner.

This Saturday, September 23rd, The Land Connection will host a four-course harvest dinner showcasing Central Illinois foods. At The Space restaurant in Downtown Champaign, Ian Nutting and Doug Hodge will cook a seasonal meal using ingredients from Champaign’s Curtis Orchard, Prairie Fruits Farm, and Humbleweed Farm, plus produce from Ben & Molly’s Farm in Villa Grove, grains by Janie’s Mill in Ashkum, pork from Triple S Farms, and fruit-infused vodka from Silver Tree Beer & Spirits in Paxton.

This intimate harvest dinner is a new fundraising event for TLC in lieu of hosting the Artisan Cup & Fork event this year. In 2021 Nutting and Hodge competed in the 6th Artisan Cup & Fork winning Judge’s Choice with a handmade stuffed pasta — and on Saturday’s menu, I spy with my little eye a stuffed pasta, too.

Take a look at the four-courses for the event.

course 1 | ground cherry salad
course 2 | butternut squash stuffed pasta
course 3 | pork loin, polenta, and wine-poached apple
course 4 | seasonal fruit, chili crisp, and popcorn
