This past weekend, the Illini Solar Car team from the College of Engineering competed in the Formula Sun Grand Prix in Topeka, placing third overall and qualifying for the American Solar Challenge. The challenge takes place from August 3-7, and takes the solar cars on public roads and highways beginning in Missouri and ending in Las Vegas.
The team’s car, Brizo, passed all of it’s inspections this weekend and their performance in the qualifier earn them a spot in the challenge.
