There’s a new Artist of the Corridor at the Urbana Free Library

Works by Anna Gutsch lay on a white cardboard in the grass. They are brightly colored simple floral drawings

Anna Gutsch, one of the owners of NORDEN and Pipapo, has a new exhibit up at the Urbana Free Library for The Artist of the Corridor, a collaboration between the library and the Urbana Arts & Culture Program. Gutsch’s exhibit, Field of Flowers, is a series of boldly colored pencil drawings with wax pigment on colorful backdrops. Gutsch’s depictions are not botanically correct because she believes “it would distract the viewer from the soul of the flower.” She focus on the vibrancy and intensity of the colors of flowers in an attempt “to capture the moment of pure joy over colorful flowers and make it last even when the flowers are long gone.”

You can check out her artwork on the main floor of the library through the first of the year.
