Every year, the Urbana Park District and Champaign County Camera Club team up to host a Best in Show contest for amateur photographers in the area. There are nine different categories: Animals, Architecture, Black and White, Landscape, Nature, People, General, Club (just for members of the Central Illinois Camera Clubs Association), and Youth Division. The general category allows for manipulation and use of photo editing software to significantly alter an image. The others are just for photo-realistic images.
Deadline for entry is January 31st at 6 p.m., though entry fees are a little cheaper if you can submit by January 24th at 6 p.m. Youth entries (age 17 and under or 18 and still in high school) are free.
All entries will be displayed at Lincoln Square Mall from February 10-25. To enter, you need to fill out this entry form. You’ll also find all the guidelines for entry attached to it.
