There’s a reproductive rights protest at the courthouse at 5 p.m.

The Champaign County courthouse is a large, red brick building with a tower on the right side of the image. There are green trees in front of the building, along the sidewalk.

Uniting Pride is organizing a protest at the Champaign County Courthouse at 5 p.m. in light of the recent news regarding the Supreme Court draft opinion that would overturn Roe v. Wade.

From Uniting Pride:

The LGBTQ+ community is all too aware of what it means for the government to legislate control over bodies, to stand in the way of people making their own medical decisions, to force minority values on people in a country where you are supposed to be free to live as you choose. The loss of Reproductive Rights will hurt the most marginalized far worse than anyone else, people barely managing the burden they are already under. And we won’t be silent while this happens.

Let us be clear: this is merely the beginning in an attempt to roll back decades of gained rights for all of us. So we must stand together and speak with one voice.

For reference, here is what abortion access looks like in our area, and Illinois more broadly.
