This Thursday, I’m thirsty for the masala tea at Kohinoor Indian Restaurant. The extremely rude cold weather we’re having this close to May is making me crave something warm and cosy. Paired with the restaurant’s delicious thali lunch, Kohinoor’s masala tea ($2.99) satisfied. The drink was a hot beverage of tea leaves boiled with milk and Indian herbs. Though sweetener was on the table, the masala tea needed none. Boiling the tea leaves softened the earthy flavors of the tea and gave a rich, milky texture to the drink. I loved the subtle herbaceous flavor from the masala. Served scorching in temp, the hot mug was a comfort to hold, and sipping this Indian tea warmed me up.
