This drink from Keke’s Mobile Beverage Trailer was quite refreshing

I visit the Champaign Farmers Market each week to pick up my CSA share, and this week I noticed a new truck there. Keke’s Mobile Beverage Trailer had a menu of a variety of cold drinks, mostly lemonade and limeade based.

You can create your own, or go for one of their specialty drinks. After perusing my options, I decided to try Wes Water, which is described as their take on Ocean Water (a drink at Sonic). The ingredient list includes: water, lemonade, Powerade, seltzer water, and coconut syrup.

Reader, they handed me a giant drink, which made the $8 price make much more sense. This could definitely be shared with someone else. The drink was delightfully refreshing. I could imagine lounging on the beach in the sun, sipping this beverage. It was sweet and tart and had just the right amount of coconut. It would be a delicious with a little rum added to it, if you wanted to kick things up a notch.

My husband thought it was reminiscent of a Shark Bowl, which is incredibly accurate. Anyone else collect those little sharks that came in the Shark Bowls? That I probably wasn’t supposed to take from R&R’s? Do we remember R&R’s?

According to their Instagram, Keke’s just opened at the end of September. This week you can find them at Urbana’s Market at the Square, and Flannel Fest.
