Twin City Derby Girls host Prairieland Punishers in 2014 season opener

From the press release:

Champaign-Urbana’s Twin City Derby Girls welcome Decatur’s Prairieland Punishers to TCDG’s opening home bout for their 2014 roller derby season. Doors open at Skateland Savoy, 208 West Curtis Road on Sunday, February 16th at 6 p.m. The family friendly action commences with the first jam starting whistle at 7 p.m.

The Battle of the I-72 Corridor! This is the first time a Champaign-Urbana area roller derby team has ever competed with a Decatur area derby team and the excitement level will be unprecedented!

There is no better way to spend your Sunday evening than cheering on the Twin City Derby Girls.

TCDG will also have a mountain of goodies, baked by the team and their families at their fund-raising bake sale during the bout and at half time. During the half time break, enjoy the unpredictable Wheel Game and win amazing prizes. Immediately after the bout, TCDG invites you to join them at their after party. The party venue will be announced at the bout and admission to the after party is free!

Tickets are available for $8 in advance from twincityderbygirls.ticketleap.com. Bout day tickets will also be available at the door, but this historic bout will sell out! A portion of the proceeds from this bout will be donated to Crisis Nursery, a non-profit organization, providing “An Island of Safety” at critical times.
