U of I Vet Med’s annual open house is October 1st

The University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine will host its annual open house on Sunday, October 1st.

This year’s theme is “not all heroes wear capes, some are veterinarians.” Not to be too much of a downer, but this feels poignant given the especially high rates of burnout and mental health crises among vets. Everyone in Champaign-Urbana has or has known someone who has benefited from the expertise of the faculty and students at Vet Med.

This family-friendly event is always great. You’ll meet service dogs, pet some reptiles, milk some cows, and learn a ton about animals and how to care for them.

Additional information is available on the event’s website
