U.S. Poet Laureate Ada Limón will be at Spurlock Museum this month for an evening event that is part conversation and part poetry reading. The event “follows Limón as she shares with us how poetry connects us to the world, allows us to heal, to love, to grieve, and reminds us of the full spectrum of human emotion.”

Limón is the 24th Poet Laureate of the United States. She is the author of six books of poetry, including The Carrying which won the National Book Critics Circle Award for Poetry. Her signature project as poet laureate is entitled You are Here: Poetry in the Natural World. The collection will be published in April 2024, and will feature 50 previously unpublished poems from other well-known poets including Poet Laureate Joy Harjo, Pulitzer Prize winners Jericho Brown, Diane Seuss, and many more. You can read more about the project on her website.
