In 2019, comedian DJ Pryor went viral with his YouTube video featuring a “conversation” with his then infant son Kingston.
The video is a textbook example of a concept called “serve and return“, when an adult responds with eye contact, words, and gestures to an infant’s babbling. It’s a component of United Way’s Early Grade Level Success initiative. Pryor will be appearing at United Way’s upcoming “philanthroParty“, Step Up! For the Future on June 9th at the City Center from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Tickets are $25, and that includes hors d’oeuvres, drinks, dessert, and a comedy set from Pryor. Proceeds will support the Early Grade Level Success initiative.
