Volunteers needed for shaving event to support childhood cancer research

The St. Baldrick’s Foundation, a volunteer-driven organization dedicated to raising money for children’s cancer research, will host its first head-shaving event in downtown Champaign at Mike N Molly’s on Friday, May 1st. Volunteers are signing up now to brave the shave to show solidarity with kids with cancer and raise money to conquer childhood cancers.

Those looking to join the event as a shavee, volunteer, or donor, can do so here. The public and media are invited to attend and cheer on volunteers as they get their heads shaved bald. There is no admission charge, however, donations will be accepted at the event.

Hairstylists from Rod Sickler’s Salon and Spa have volunteered to shave heads, led by hairstylist to the stars, Ashleigh Coartney. Mike Murphy of Mike N Molly’s has donated the venue, which will be held in the beer garden weather permitting. And, of course, there are the brave who have signed up to go bald.
