In just a few weeks, YWCA of Champaign County is hosting their next event at the Urbana-Champaign Independent Media Center. From 1 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 11th, the Empowering Black and Brown Women Project is part of a journey to “learn more about how the history and personal effects of systematic racism” and how it affects all of us.

Andrea Rundell, Executive Director of YWCA Champaign County, has this to say about the upcoming event: “Empowering BIPOC women to explore healing from racism is one of the most impactful things we can do to advance our mission of eliminating racism and empowering women.”

The YWCA just held a successful fundraiser at Neil St. Blues, which looked like it was a ton of fun, filled with good food no doubt.
