Dinner is tasty at Stango Cuisine in Champaign

Don’t forget about Stango Cuisine in their new location in Champaign sharing space with Wood N’ Hog. Yesterday, I ordered dinner from the Zambian restaurant, and it was delicious.

I usually get the amazing wings here, but last night, I had the chicken curry ($12.99). The dinner came with a choice of starch and a choice between greens or beans; I picked Stango rice and greens. The curry had chunks of boneless chicken that were savory and flavorful without being spicy at all. The soft carrot slices and big potatoes absorbed the yummy flavors of the curry, and the yellow rice was really good. The softened greens had some onions in it, and I enjoyed it best with bites of rice and chicken.

I also ordered a side of beef samosas ($4.99).

Listen, you need to order these beef samosas. I have always been a fan of Stango’s beef hand pies, so I knew I’d like the filling, but these samosas are my new favorite app at Stango. The thick pastry was bready near the beef and deliciously crispy on the outer layer. The corners of the samosa had crackly edges like a cracker, and the peppery flavor of the crumbly ground beef was outstanding.

Stango Cuisine is only open for dinner, not lunch. The ambiance of the Champaign location is more casual than the previous location in Urbana, but the food is still delicious and the service friendly.
