Jazz-infused pop outfit Indigo Sun comes through from their hometown of Chicago. They’re on tour around the Midwest and stop through at Canopy Club this week with a couple locals, Sonny Stubble and The Beeson Brothers. WHAT: Goblin Colors, Suns, Shadows on a River

Chicago’s Suns released their most recent album, When We Were Us, last June and have a few dates around the Midwest before they head down to South By Southwest. Alt-country rock outfit Matt Poss Band is joined by High Low Drifters to close out the week at Cowboy Monkey. Not sure what to make of their tagline “Sounds like Country, Feels Like Rock, Tastes Like Chicken,” but it means something, I guess. They’ll venture up to C-U from their hometown of Effingham too, as January ends and February begins.

This week’s editor’s pick is a band that C-U got to see not too long ago as they stopped into town to play Pygmalion back in September. They’ll get another chance to show us what they’re made of as they play downtown Champaign this time instead of the Channing-Murray for last year’s festival.
They just released a new EP not too long ago, and you can check out one of the new tracks below called “Analysis Paralysis.” More of this is to come as the band is preparing their new record, Safe Without Sound, for its release. Joining the crew are locals That’s No Moon and I am God. Good stuff going down at Mike ‘N Molly’s Saturday night.
