Black Breastfeeding Week is August 25-31, and BIPOC for Better Birth is celebrating this Saturday at Hessel Park. From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the pavilion, there will be a free event for nursing parents and their families. You can expect some light refreshments, vendors and lactation resources, and opportunities to chat with other Black breastfeeding parents as well as local doulas.

You can sign up for a free mini photography session with Shelby Springer, a doula and photographer, to capture a breastfeeding moment with your child.

BIPOC for Better Birth is an organization that offers “free and low-cost trainings for BIPOC people who want to become doulas, midwives, lactation professionals, childbirth educators, and herbalists.”
