BNAACC receives national recognition

The Association for Black Culture Centers hosted their 2023 conference and awarded the University of Illinois’ Bruce D. Nesbitt African American Cultural Center “Cultural Center of the Year.” This award “recognizes the work of a center’s programs, initiatives, and overall impact and honors a center that’s efforts are dedicated to the development and success of the students they serve.” 

In addition to BNAACC’s national recognition, U of I student, Lauren Purchase, was recognized at the conference as the 2023 “Undergraduate of the Year” for her leadership, engagement, and advocacy.
