In an effort to fight the leading cause of death among women, Busey is partnering with Susan G. Komen for the Cure® in central Illinois. Think Pink, which runs May 10–24, 2013, is a social media initiative to assist the nonprofit to find a cure and eradicate breast cancer. Breast cancer is the most frequently diagnosed cancer among women worldwide, according to the American Cancer Society.
Data from the National Cancer Institute shows a woman born today has about a 1 in 8 chance of being diagnosed with breast cancer at some time during her life. Through the Think Pink campaign, Busey is encouraging community members to connect with them on Facebook and Twitter and the organization will donate to Susan G. Komen for the Cure® Memorial Affiliate in Peoria, IL — which serves Champaign-Urbana. With one click, a person can donate and join in the fight to end breast cancer.
