C-U Folk & Roots Festival staging virtual John Prine tribute show May 9th

C-U Folk & Roots Festival is currently shceduled for October 22-24 in Urbana, and in the interim, they’ll be paying homage to the late, great John Prine, who passed away a few weeks ago. They’ll be hosting a virtual Tribute to John Prine, streamed live from Rose Bowl Tavern, this Saturday, May 9th at 8 p.m. You can read all about it below, and check for updates via their Facebook event page.

The C-U Folk and Roots Festival presents our spring fundraising event, “A Tribute to John Prine.” This event will be streamed live from the historic Rose Bowl Tavern in Urbana, Illinois on Saturday, May 9th beginning at 8pm, and will feature many local musicians along with very special guest Chicago Farmer. Tune in on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or YouTube.

You can enjoy watching and listening to the concert for free with the opportunity to make a donation to support this year’s Festival, currently scheduled the weekend of October 22-24. Can’t wait to “see” you!
