Celebrate Lunar New Year with Urbana Park District

Lunar New Year 2024 begins on February 10th, but there will be a variety of ways to celebrate throughout the month. The City of Urbana, Urbana Park District, Urbana Free Library, Urbana Arts and Culture, 40North, New American Cultural Center, Urbana High School PTSA, We Love Urbana, and a bunch of businesses will be participating. You can keep an eye on the Facebook event for forthcoming details.

This Saturday, February 3rd, Urbana Park District will be holding a family-friendly celebration at Phillips Recreation Center from 2 to 3:30 p.m. This is the Year of the Dragon in Chinese culture, and there will be a variety of activities, music and dance performances, snacks, and more to recognize Chinese traditions as well as those of other Asian cultures that celebrate Lunar New Year. The event is free and open to all.
