Avicenna Community Health Center offers free medical services for people in the area who are uninsured or underinsured. Just last year, they added women’s health services to the scope of what they provide, including cervical cancer screenings, breast exams, contraception, well checks, and much more. Students from Carle Illinois College of Medicine are volunteering their time to provide these services, alongside clinic physicians.

The women’s clinic is currently open one day a month, but clinic co-directors Billianne Schultz and Anessa Puskar are hoping to eventually expand that schedule. The next clinic date is February 18th from 1 to 4 p.m. The full schedule can be found on the Avicenna website.
