Champaign’s Prairie Fruits Farm & Creamery now owned by Martinelli’s Market

The new owners of Prairie Fruits Farm & Creamery are no strangers to the Champaign food scene. Prairie Fruits Farm is now owned by the same people who own Martinelli’s Market & Deli. The purchase includes the farm, barns, creamery, retail store, farmhouse, and all the cute goats. The leasing agent was Alisa DeMarco, who was once the chef for the speciality dinners at PFF.

Prairie Fruits Farm founders Wes Jarrell and Leslie Cooperband will remain involved in a hands-on consulting way. The new owners plan to continue the creamery’s award-winning cheese production and hope to offer on-site farm-to-table dining. Currently, PFF is closed for the winter, but there will be a grand re-opening in the spring with cute baby goats and plenty of fresh cheese. If you really love goats, sign up on the farm’s website to volunteer for feeding baby goats.
