Chong Qing House Chinese Restaurant opened in August at the corner of Fourth and Green in the space that was Lai Lai Wok. The new restaurant’s menu is quite large with over two hundred menu items.

In addition to hot pot, Chong Qing House Chinese Restaurant offers appetizers like spring rolls, crab rangoon, chicken wings, dumplings, and scallion pancakes. The extensive menu lists nine soups, nine kinds of fried rice, nine noodle entrees, 27 vegetarian dishes, and many main dishes sorted by protein (seafood, beef, pork, chicken, duck, and tofu). If you’re hungry for American-Chinese dishes like General Tso’s chicken and kung pao shrimp, that’s on the menu as well. There’s four dessert options: sweet potato cake, rice balls in sweet rice wine, sweet green bean soup, and lotus seed and snow mushroom with rock sugar. I want to try the restaurant’s #64 spicy crispy sliced fish, #84 braised pork belly, or the #119 Sichuan lamb.

The interior of Chong Qing has a red carpet with burgundy chairs and red tablecloths.
